Miscarriage is a term used for a pregnancy loss within the first 20 weeks since conception. It is also known as spontaneous abortion, the natural death of an embryo or fetus before it is able to survive independently.

The reason for miscarriage is varied, and most times the cause of the miscarriage cannot be identified. There are many women who wonder if their miscarriage was their fault but in most cases, it has nothing to do with anything they have or have not done.

The average chances of having a miscarriage in most healthy women is about a 15-20% chance and sadly, there’s no way to stop a miscarriage from happening once it’s started.

This loss of a baby through miscarriage can be a very upsetting and uncertain time for new parents and as Breathe, we want to shed some light in this common yet sometimes taboo topic which is unsaid or not talked about at most times. Check out the full episodes coming out this 15th October 2018 on www.chup.tv in light of the Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.
